Carmel-Antoine Bessard

An author and a scientist, Carmel-Antoine Bessard is a native of Montreal-North and still lives there.

A graduate of McGill University, she has been an engineer with the City of Montreal for the past fifteen years. She also holds a Master’s degree in municipal management from the École nationale d'administration publique (ÉNAP). Ms. Bessard is actively involved with Quebec youth through mentoring, programs encouraging students to stay in school, and the creation of scientific and educational competitions.

“My decision to participate in political life with the Quebec Conservatives was motivated mainly by the breakdown of democratic values, the lack of meaningful debate and the absence of a strong parliamentary opposition. I want to show the real potential of my little corner of the country, which gets falsely blamed for all the problems of the city.”
