Born into a large family of Hemmingford farmers, Chantal Dauphinais has a background in herbal medicine. After the birth of her two children, she trained in digital marketing and has worked in this field for over 20 years.
The nature of her work has her rubbing elbows with business owners on a daily basis and she has been able to see first-hand the distress, anger and helplessness of her clients that began when the Legault government began to implement its health measures. In her address, she called on the people to “take care of politics before politics takes care of us.”
“The concept of the ‘essential worker’ has been one of the worst things to happen to Quebec. Every day I see the consequences of the abusive and destructive mismanagement of the health crisis. The Legault government has spent millions of dollars on advertising and on untendered contracts, but our schools are still poorly ventilated, our seniors have been abandoned in their CHSLDs, our entrepreneurs are still struggling to avoid bankruptcy, and citizens have been divided according to their vaccination status. We need to take care of politics before politics takes care of us.”
