Dany Bernier lives in Sherbrooke where he has been working for the city as a leisure and recreation technician for the past two years.
Describing himself as “a friendly-neighbourhood guy,” he has worked for a youth centre, as a project officer for the Katimavik program, and in the tourism industry in the Laurentians. Now back in the Eastern Townships, he has been actively involved with seniors in CHSLDs during the pandemic.
“There are many issues that affect us in the region: the housing crisis, the price of gasoline and inflation in general, the pandemic that never stops making headlines and the division between Francophones, Anglophones and allophones that are fuelled by the Legault government. We have to bring the sound management of public finances back to the fore, which is partly what prompted me to run for office. The state weighs too heavily on us and micro-manages too much of our lives. It’s time to break the old mould and start afresh, but intelligently this time. The CPQ is the way to do it."
