Karine Pépin is a nursing assistant who has been working in the health care field for over 20 years.
Acting vice-president for the Trois-Rivières region of the FIQ Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec, she has been involved in various joint committees over her career. Ms. Pépin is making the leap into politics to improve working conditions for her colleagues.
“We have to make health care professionals want to come back into the system by offering them a genuine work/life balance. We can make a real difference to health care just by respecting and valuing the autonomy of different job titles and by improving working conditions. I was part of Mr. Duhaime’s team to build a solid plan to improve our health care system, and I believe I am in a great position to give very good advice.”
