“I know my region, my territory and all the people who live there by heart. I have been working in regional development on the North Shore for more than 25 years and I can make this observation: my region does not control the levers required for its own emancipation. In general, we are ‘planned, organised, directed and controlled’ by forces from outside our community. The North Shore is also suffering a demographic decline and I want to help to reverse this trend. I want to represent my constituency to give a voice to all my fellow citizens, and this includes the interests of the Innu and Naskapi nations that share the territory.”
